Injury And Illness Prevention Program

As of 1991, every employer is required by law to have in place an injury prevention program which outlines rules, regulations and guidelines for all employees to be aware of. This must be in writing and distributed to each employed person. Failure to create and distribute an injury and illness prevention program opens up the employer to liability for injury lawsuits and legal expenses. Employers with fewer than 10 employees may distribute the injury and illness prevention program verbally.
